TTC – Yoga Academy

a 1000 yoga Academy, Centre for education in Authentic Indian Yoga, was established to support teachers and aspiring teachers in pursuing knowledge of yoga, in a regular course formats as well as an affordable, flexible course formats, to become a Certified subject expert and a Professional Yoga Teacher. These courses are programmed to address the most important and immediate needs of a Yoga Teacher, be it Yoga, Teaching methodology, or Business skills.

At the Academy, our mode of instruction is staying true to the Indian Gurukula system – a traditional and trusted education system in a modern context. Knowledge is imparted through the evolving relationship between the Teacher and the disciple. It is considered that this relationship, based on the genuineness of the Teacher and commitment, respect, devotion, obedience and faith of the student, is the best way for delivery of subtle and advanced knowledge.

Our principal teacher and founder, Pradeep Sattwamaya  comes from such a tradition, and is a disciple of Paramhamsa Swami Niranjanananda Saraswati (In the lineage of Shri Adi-Shankara, Swami Sivananda, Swami Satyananda) of Bihar School of Yoga.

We incorporate the essence of traditional Indian scriptures and understand its relevance to the modern need. Yogic texts like Patanjali’s Yoga Sutras and Hata Yoga Pradipika are the source books for all our practices and beliefs. We strongly believe and have incorporated the wisdom of Ayurveda, Ayurvedic physiology and anatomy in Yoga therapy, lifestyle and diet. Modern Anatomy and Physiology is used to further the understand of the human body and its functions.

Mentoring from our experienced teachers, apprenticeship and opportunity to build a strong peer support group are key features of our post course engagements. Every successful graduate will be equipped to teach classes that are Engaging, Authentic & Honest, a trademarked a1000yoga approach to teaching.

a1000yoga is also a Yoga Alliance registered school for 200, 300, Children’s & Prenatal courses

I teach in a school for 10 year olds, once a week, and 1h Ashtanga vinyasa yoga for adults once a week. For me it’s a continuation of my TTC… I continue my journey, my goal is to be a good teacher, a good yogini…

I think a lot about everyone in the different yoga studios, students, friends, teachers and Master. You all inspire me. When I teach, I feel like as I taught in the Koramangala and Indiranagar studio! Gratitude for everything I learnt from teachers, students, practices, philosophy and experiences. All the best for you and for all the yogis! Hari OM.

If someone wants to know what yoga has to offer or can do to ones mind and body, a1000yoga should be ones choice. The principle followed is “personal practice”. You can only teach/share what you experience and the only way possible is through practice. Also the focus on “prana” energy being able to flow while being in a posture is the only way you can experience meditation while you flow from one posture to next. This was taught by making us experience the importance of “sthiram sukham asanam “. Thank you! I owe my learning, my success to a1000yoga.

Aarti Gautam

My training in a1000yoga has been one of the most revealing experiences in my life, the philosophy and training of the center was 100% in tune with me. I feel blesed to haver learn this TTC with them, looking forward to complete my education with them in the future.

Mafalda Mas Saranichiny

The teachers were very kind and knowledgable. The school was the most hygienic place to learn yoga in India as far as I know.

Mayuka Namikata

I really love a100yoga style and trainers they really help you to get into the modern yoga philosophy.

Rafel Ruiz Berenguer

The TTC programs offered by a1000yoga (RYT 200, RYT 500 and other yoga workshops) are simply best-in-class. The quality of instruction and the depth of experience of all master teachers here is incomparable and does not fail to touch you deep. There is remarkable difference between TTC programs offered here vis-a-vis what is offered anywhere else, because of the rigor of practice, the comprehensive coverage of curriculum and the unbeatable environment that truly inspires you to follow the path of Yoga even after you officially ‘complete the course’. I highly recommend a1000yoga to anyone who is looking for real yoga-education besides an authentic certification in a professional and culturally-neutral but sensitive environment! A first step into their studio will bring the essence of what I am saying, alive for you! In my experience of being to many YOGA studios in USA as well as India, there is nothing like a1000yoga! Never miss a chance to experience them!.

            Make Yoga part of Life

The principles laid out in Patanjali’s yoga sutras dating back to 500 B.C. are still very relevant today, even in our modern information world. Yoga has evolved a lot from the days of Patanjali; it has taken different forms to meet the varying needs of practitioners all along its journey. Yoga continues to accept all changes, like the ocean accepts the river, absorbs, assimilates and grows. (A distinctive feature of sanaatan dharma of India)
