Indira Vasanth

Yoga Teacher

Indira’s earliest ‘fitness-related’ childhood memories are of her father – shaking her and her brothers’ awake everyday at the crack of dawn for a jog/swim/rowing/tennis. “Even the hapless family dog was not spared!” she says. As kids, she and her brothers despised their dad’s strict nature, but today she is deeply grateful to him for instilling a lifelong commitment to physical fitness. Her dad is her first guru – his photograph occupies a pride of place in her Yoga room. Read More .

If Tarun were told as a child, that he would become a teacher, he would not believe you. He had a stammer, and was petrified of speaking in front of other people. It reached a stage where he could not even say his name. It was during this phase of depression and anxiety, at the age of 12, that Tarun would go for Yoga classes, the instructor being his friend’s father. He used to thoroughly enjoy the practice at that time. “I overcame my fear of speech to a large extent only because of Yoga.” Read More

              Make Yoga part of Life

The principles laid out in Patanjali’s yoga sutras dating back to 500 B.C. are still very relevant today, even in our modern information world. Yoga has evolved a lot from the days of Patanjali; it has taken different forms to meet the varying needs of practitioners all along its journey. Yoga continues to accept all changes, like the ocean accepts the river, absorbs, assimilates and grows. (A distinctive feature of sanaatan dharma of India)
