Children’s Yoga Teacher Training Program – RCYT

“Wondering how Yoga can shape a better future? Teach Children!

The 95 hour Yoga Alliance registered RCYT course is designed to equip yoga teachers with knowledge and first- hand experience of teaching yoga to children according to their developmental stage, in a safe, fun and enriching manner.

The Children’s Yoga course at a1000yoga is designed by experienced Master yoga teachers and children’s health and education professionals. The course begins with the study and understanding of all childhood developmental stages and how the issues of each stage impacts what is appropriate for teaching them. Understanding of the yoga teacher’s relationships with parents/guardians and developmental specialists and basic communication skills for conducting those relationships.

During the course we will explore:

  • Yoga-based practices appropriate for child development, such as asanas, asana-based movement.
  • Anatomy and physiology related specifically to changes during child development and their application to yoga techniques.
  • Yoga-based games and activities.
  • Breathing techniques and chanting.
  • Detailed study of classroom techniques.
  • Lesson plans and group processing for children’s activities, including age-appropriate teaching skills for yoga class.
  • Effective communication skills for working with children
  • Apprenticeship and Group work – executing a Yoga work-shop for children.

Who can attend:

  • RYT200 & RYT300 graduates with some yoga teaching experience
  • Regular yoga practitioners with teaching experience
